At Arc-Zone®, helping fabricators succeed isn’t a slogan — it’s how we operate every day.
Whether you’re running a compact shop or managing large production runs, we step in wherever we can to remove limitations, improve performance, and help you take on bigger jobs with confidence.
Recently, our ProPartner Wes Mishler (@wicked_welding) needed support on two fronts:
- A way to take on longer weldments inside his small shop
- A cleaner, more consistent solution for Pulse MIG nozzle performance
Here’s how we helped.
Expanding Capability Without Expanding the Shop
Wes works out of a compact fabrication space with a 4′ x 8′ table. The limitation wasn’t skill or equipment — it was footprint.
He wanted to take on longer structural weldments but didn’t want to overhaul his shop layout or invest in a larger primary table. To extend his work surface and take on longer weldments, Wes added the Fixturing Sawhorse Kit 36″ x 6-5/8″ System from Strong Hand Tools (available at Arc-Zone.com) This adjustable welding sawhorse system is designed specifically for fabrication environments where space is limited but precision still matters. Instead of suggesting a costly expansion, we recommended an adjustable welding sawhorse system that integrates directly with his existing setup.

The result:
- Height-matched support aligned with his table plane
- Stable extension for longer aluminum rail weldments
- Foldable design for compact storage
- Expanded project eligibility without increasing square footage
Sometimes growth isn’t about buying bigger equipment — it’s about adding the right support in the right place.
Cleaner Pulse MIG Performance
Wes also experienced inconsistent first-pass weld behavior when using a previous anti-spatter product during Pulse MIG runs.
In high-heat applications like Pulse MIG, small chemistry differences matter. The first weld after application would run rough until the coating burned off, forcing operator correction before the arc stabilized.
We supplied a plant-oil-based anti-spatter solution from Best Welds, designed for high-heat environments.
What changed?
- Smoother first weld immediately after application
- No rough burn-off phase
- Reduced nozzle fouling
- Longer intervals between reapplication
- More consistent arc behavior during extended runs
This wasn’t about switching products for the sake of it — it was about improving weld stability where it counts. Check out the before and after pics!
